I am such a proponent of the true essence of an elopement especially a Las Vegas elopement. When Didi called me about her plans, she knew exactly what she wanted out of her special day. She wanted the day to be intimate, casual, and fun. And most importantly, she wanted photos to show to their, at the time newborn, daughter when she gets older.
If you’re going to do an elopement at The Little White Chapel definitely aim for a weekday. Even though Didi and Kris’s plans got turned upside down from flight delays to cancellations, they were able to still make it happen on a quiet Tuesday at the chapel. The universe works in such strange ways because this couldn’t have turned out better for them.
With only a couple other elopements before them, they arrived and walked up to that infamous drive thru window and got themselves hitched. Since it was so quiet at the chapel on a Tuesday, we were able to take our time with photos around the chapel.
After our mini photo session, we headed to the Arts District to have a celebratory cocktail at Davy’s, one of my personal favorite cocktails bars in the area. Their hours are consistent, delicious cocktails, great beer selection, and friendly service plus they have an outdoor patio that is spacious and so many things to look at which is entertaining. With the celebratory cocktails in hand, this led them to have a personal moment with their first dance while no one else was in the bar.
It was such a beautiful afternoon and it was an honor to celebrate these two. Didi and Kris encompassed what black love is and it’s always so humbling when the couple is excited to shoot with you!
