Ultimately, I never grew out of this phase and knew I had found a passion worth pursuing.
Like any teen in the early 2000s, Myspace was the launchpad for my photography obsession. Aside from the thrill of making it on my crush’s Top 8, I loved pushing the limits of my own creativity and felt natural behind the lens. I’d stage shoots with friends and get experimental with lighting and poses, sharing my photos with the vast network of high school contemporaries (ok so probably like 36 people to begin with).
